Of that Ilk in Ayrshire, Scotland, the progenitors of Clan Fairlie, settled in Farley near Largs, this line of the clan became extinct when the sister and heir of the Laird of Fairlie, married Sir William Cunningham of Robertland, who assumed the additional name of Fairlie in 1781.
