Galbraith
Clan Galbraith or in Garlic, Clann a’Bhreatannaich of Culcreuch in Dumbartonshire, Scotland. The name means foreign Briton. The first of the clan to be recorded was Gillescop Galbrath who witnessed a charter by Malduin, Lord of Lennox, circa1208. In 1215, William, son of Galbrat, received land in Lennox at Buthernockis and Kincaith. Descended from him were the Galbraiths of Culcreuch.
Arms: Gules. three bears' heads erased argent muzzled azure.
Crest: A bull's head in profile proper, armed argent (Another, a bear's head erased proper).
Motto: Ab obice sauvoir (Sweeter for there having been difficulties)
