Clan Irvine of Drum Castle, Aberdeenshire, Scotland; descended from Duncan Eryvine, brother of Crinan, who married the heiress of Malcolm II of Scotland, and who was the father of King Duncan who was murdered by Macbeth. A direct descendant of Duncan Eryvine was William De Irwin, whom Robert Bruce appointed his armour-bearer.
Arms: Argent, three small sheaves of holly two and one vert, each consisting of as many leaves slipped and banded gules.
Crest: A sheaf of holly consisting of nine leaves vert, slipped and banded gules.
Motto: Sub sole sub umbra virens (Flourishing both in sunshine and in shade.)
