Clan Lindsay of Scotland; descended from England through Sir Walter de Lindissie, who accompanied David, Earl of Huntington, brother of Alexander I, to Scotland to claim his throne in the 10th century.
Arms: Quarterly, 1st and 4th, gules, a fess chequy argent and azure(Lindsay); 2nd and 3rd, or, a lion rampant gules, armed and langued azure, debruised of a ribbon sable(Aberneth.)
Crest: Issuing from an antique ducal coronet or, the head, neck and wings of a swan proper.
Motto: Endure fort (Endure boldly).
