Clan Chisholm of that Ilk, Scotland; descended from Richard de Chesehelme of Roxburghshire who used the boar's head on his seal in 1296, and according to legend, the device was granted to two brothers of the family along with lands in Inverness-shire, who saved the life of a king from a wild boar. Robert de Chisholme became Constable of Urquhart Castle in 1369 and later became Sheriff of Inverness and Justiciar of the North. The clan supported both Jacobite Risings.
